Michael Jordan, the most exciting basketball player I ever watched, is making serious noise about coming back. This is by way of a personal note to him saying, I hope he resists the temptation and leaves us with our memories of him as they now exist. .
Is the video games industry headed for a crash?
It's larger than Hollywood, its virtual stars may live happily on a diet of bits and bytes, but the video games industry has not been able to insulate itself from upheaval. Yes, gamers are snapping up the new generation of games consoles - Microsoft's Xbox 360, Nintendo's Wii, and Sony's Playstation 3 [PS3], but at huge cost to the industry. Hardware makers are losing hundreds of dollars on every console sold, and games publishers face an "increasingly difficult environment, as rising development costs and small user bases [mean] that return on investment in next generation games development is unlikely to be achieved before 2008," according to media analysts Screen Digest. More importantly, though, the video games publishers are facing a revolution of their business model.
Serious about gaming? Time to prove it
We also considered the latest Need for Speed title (Need for Speed: Carbon), but frustratingly this requires an internet connection, which some of the public venues were visiting this summer might struggle to provide (or which could potentially slow the fun down). The choice then, and one that we believe will go down oh so well across the Gulf, Konamis Pro Evo 6. If Ive done my job here, then Ive managed to peak your interest enough to enter WGC2. Which is nice, because registration for each country is now open. All you need do is head across to www.itp.net/wgc and click the How to Enter button. If you have any questions at all about this process or the event in general, just let me know on windows@itp.com. Now quit reading and get practicing! .
06:36 Four Capcom Games coming to Playstation Network (0)
Playstation Network game announcements have been few and far between it seems. Thankfully, Capcom has changed that with their annual Gamers' Day conference revealing four new titles that are in development as part of the company's new focus on downloadable content. The list of games coming soon to the Playstation Store from Capcom include Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Rocketmen: Axis of Evil, and Talisman. It's no surprise that after the commercial success of Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting on XBLA, Capcom would soon realize the potential for releasing their most beloved franchises on digital platforms like the Playstation Network and XBLA. The company's new initiative was declared by Jack Symon, director of brand marketing at Capcom Entertainment: "We intend to be a major player in this space by using a combination of classic Capcom IP, licensed IP and, in the future, harnessing some of the biggest names in game development to create new classic experiences." .

Imagine a job where you can work from home, make your own hours and never report to a superior. There are no interviews or resumes required to apply. Stephen Colbert calls the profession a threat to America. Sociologists call it an example of gender-nonconformity. I call it being a stay-at-home-dad, and it is my life-long dream. .
