| Lenovo Beats Apple, HP iPods the Game Market, More Gifts for Dads ...
It is impressive that a company not known for gaming is moving to take the industry by storm. At the very least, HP has given notice that it is coming, and competitors better lock up their women and children. It is vastly easier and less risky just to compete on performance -- but changing an industry is the stuff legends are made of. Aqua Teens coming to PS2
Midway Games and Cartoon Network recently announced that the Aqua Teen Hunger Force will be making its way to the Playstation 2. The new video game, called Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am, will be an action-adventure, combat golf and cart racing game. As if the entire concept behind the game isn't weird enough, it even has a whole storyline in which Frylock gets accepted into a country club called Jersey Pines Golf Club. Jealous of Frylock, Master Shake decides to show the club's members that he deserves a place in the club too, and Mea twad somehow gets sucked into it all too. Unfortunately, not much has been explained about how the gameplay will work other than, " the three crime-fighting food products use golf clubs and a variety of other weapons in ways not intended as they battle numerous villains, fan favorites and other show characters." It all makes about as much sense as the show's storylines.
VFX/Animation Heavyweights to Descend on Stuggart for FMX
FMX is Europe's most important gathering of VFX and animation people. Folks from every part of the globe descend upon Stuttgart each year in early May to share ideas, techniques and their stories. This year promises to be amazing if you go by the speaker's list. With more than 300 events and presentations, you'll have a mind boggling choice. The problem for me every year is that I can't TIVO the conference. Too many times there will be three or even four “must-see" presentations and I hate having to make a choice. Ed Hooks is the world's foremost expert on acting in animation, goes every year too. He flies all the way from Chicago. “When I first started coming to FMX, there were more people on the stage than in the audience. Somewhere along the way, the event became a stellar animation attraction, and I stood in awe as tens of thousands of industry professionals would show up.
They eat bad guys for lunch
Impossible to say; this feature-length version of the absurdist Cartoon Network cartoon revels in its free-form stupidity - which is one of this avant-garde comic melange's chief delights. Or, to put it another way: I have no idea what Aqua Teen Hunger Force was talking about, but most of the time, I was laughing too hard to worry. At its core, this story is the tale of a team of talking fast-food products battling a futuristic exercise machine bent on world domination. I think. Or it could be a warning about the perils of too much technology, too much exercise and too much worrying about whether stuff makes any sense. Not to mention the folly of placing too much trust in the ghosts of ex-presidents. Oww. My brain is starting to hurt. Leading the way in this intergalactic tale of heroic foodstuffs is the team of Master Shake (a milkshake voiced by Dana Snyder), Frylock (a box of short-tempered french fries with a Fu Manchu, voiced by Carey Means) and Meatwad (a simple-minded meatball voiced by Aqua Teen co-creator Dave Willis).
