Season Tickets In Demand Despite Negative Publicity
FAYETTEVILLE -- Apparently, Arkansas fans aren't so jaded by the state of the football program that they've stopped buying season tickets.Despite plenty of negative publicity for Arkansas coach Houston Nutt over the past few months, the waiting list for fans to purchase season tickets continues to grow by around 10-12 individuals a day, Arkansas ticket manager Mark Scobey said Monday.Scobey said the amount of money the university has deposited from season-ticket sales is up 13 percent from this time last year, though he couldn't provide an exact amount.Scobey also estimated that around 900 fans are currently on a waiting list to buy season tickets for the upcoming season."(Season tickets have) been more in demand since the middle of January," Scobey said. "And our waiting list has grown immensely since the middle of January."The popular assumption is that the demand for season tickets would have actually decreased in mid-January, as Nutt dealt with an onslaught of negative publicity.
WoW Europe: Free character migrations from April 4 to 11
There appears to be another movement in World of Warcraft's Europe servers, and it's of the server/realm migration variety. Blizzard's spokesman Thundgot is announcing by way of the official WoW Europe forums another slew of free character migrations today. Going into further detail on the announcement: The below migrations will be activated today (Wednesday April 4th). They're scheduled to close at the start of the maintenance on Wednesday April 11th. However, again, please note that this may change at any time. (Edit: to explain; while the main purpose of the migration is to fill up some of the lower populated realms we of course don't want them filled to the point of having queues, hence the possibility of migration being closed prematurely.) From any of these realms: Crushridge, Outland, Warsong To any of these realms: Agamaggan, Dragonmaw, Spinebreaker, Vek'nilash WoW gamers who've done this before should know the drill.
Grabbing WASL by the horns
I didn't always love the WASL. When my kids were little, I braced myself and crossed my fingers that they would pass. It got more serious for me when I became a special-education teacher. Suddenly, I needed to do more than steel myself for April. So I asked: "Why do kids have to do standardized tests anyway?" I thought it might help to have some ammunition for my WASL bashing. I put in to score the test, sure I would find out that it was unfair and unnecessary. I was surprised at what I learned about how the state designed and scored the test. Every attempt was made to try to decipher barely legible writing, to understand student "intent," to give students points for what they "did know" and not score them down for what they didn't. .
